New radiometric dating of the dolmen of Viera (Antequera, Málaga). Gómez-Moreno Collection

Here we present the ‘Abstract‘ of the corresponding paper by Águeda Lozano Medina (translated from Spanish).

Abstract

Two new radiometric dating of bone samples of animal origin belonging to the Viera dolmen and coming from the Gómez-Moreno Collection, currently deposited in the Museum of Malaga, are presented. The new dates place the ritual use of Viera in the first half of the third millennium cal BC with at least one episode of reuse during the Bronze Age. These results are discussed within the framework of the absolute chronology of the Recent Prehistory of the Land of Antequera.
